In the southeastern corner of Delta County at an elevation of 6,800 feet, Crawford is the perfect getaway from the high-paced life to relax and breathe the fresh mountain air. Fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, mountain biking, and many other outdoor activities are within a few minutes of the Hitching Post Hotel and Farm Store.

It truly is beautiful among the West Elk Mountains in Western Colorado! Crawford offers visitors an authentic old western town with its rustic and original buildings and unique character. Established in the late 1800s, Crawford  is a high country ranching community where generations of families and friends have shared the mountains, valleys and scenic areas of Colorado.

Crawford Country is host to the north rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, the Crawford State Park, the Needlerock (a 700-ft. volcanic monolith), and numerous other areas where majestic views abound.

The Town of Crawford is home to approximately 350 people, and a few retail stores and restaurants. The Hitching Post Hotel and Feed Store can accommodate your stay for a night or a week.
